Ok so there is a ctf practice this Sunday 3 est in rx ctf. We will start out in ctf 1v1 then move to normal ctf server. For most of the practice we will focus on cutting since our attackers need to drastically improve at that . At the end we will have a srs match.

If Got this from the ww forums from one of their old ctf pros. These are his old def tips. If you wanna def please read this though u don't have to follow everything he say
When i was a noob, i always wanted to no how to defend my flag if i ever needed to, and from experience i know that it is harder to get better if you are a noob like i was, because no one will let you defend because you arent good. These are my mental tips that i use when i am defending to help me.
1. the right ammount of speed: alot speed in my opinion is not a good thing in my opinion. Having alot of speed maks it harder to control the end of your tail, this is key to a good defence, and having too much speed accelerates the rate that your defence collapses(when it is too small for you to defend). But having speed makes it harder for the attacker to get in because there is a shorter ammount of time that he/she can get in. so finding your ideal speed can help your defence.(your speed my vary depending on what style of defence you have)
2.Inside or Outside?: You always want to stay colse or next to your trail on the inside of your defence so no one can get in unless the attacker is far enough behind your that you can come on the outside of your defence to expand or attack the attackers, but tail control if nessecesary to pull it of correctly.(not recomended for beginners)
3.To maze or not to maze?: The maze defence is efficent at what it does. I, personally, find the maze defence to be useful when my def gets to small, and attacking the attackers while still having the flag completely surrounded. The major cons of this defence are: it is slow to set up and can be broken fairly easily in that stage. it is small and deos not expand as far as a non-maze defence, and you can become crushed against your own wall.(maze defence not recommended for eginners)
4.Jagged is better: having a more jagged defence makes it harder for the attacker to grind on and makes it harder for them to predict your location in the cycle because of speed changes in turning. But having to jagged of a defence can make it harder for you to follow and trace to the best of your ability.(paragraph recommended for beginners)
5.Tail control: Tail control is, im my opinion, is the absolute most important part of a defence. I don't have anything else to say on this topic except that your tail control will basicly only get better with practice.
6.Basic Laws: These are the laws or basic guide-lines that almost always stand true: #1: never "cut" the flag meaning never go thought or put your tail through it. #2: Expand as much as you can with no openings. #3:always be ready to cover holes.
