Inspired by FPSs (First person shooting) games, this map will attempt to recreate what made those fun. Shooting map, 2 teams. The map has obstacles, cover/shelter, bunkers, etc. What makes this like FPS is that none of the players move on the map, you press brakes to "walk/run". There will be random weapons on the ground that you can pick up to change them. Machine gun (rapid fire), shot gun (massive shots), sniper (fast shot, small bullet), mines (big shots that don't move).
Did I mention, this is also an FPS!

Holy Macaroni, This map sounds breast. Will we only have a limited amount of bullets before we have to pick up another weapon? o.0

Thanks guys! <3 Makes me feel warm and fuzzy :* and raises the bar I have for the rest of the games. The map I made for this gets old fast though. So any of you wanting to make one for me? All you gotta do is draw it out with paper/pencil or draw it digitally (paint mebe) just remember to specify wall-height, and I'll make a map of it. A wall height of 1 is half the size of the cycle, while 50 is infinitely tall.

Armabell and Inkscape are also great programs for you who want to go straight to the source. I'm computer retarded and after 10 minutes with armabell I knew what I was doing. The current Paintball map was one I designed using armabell, it's really easy and loads of fun seeing your creation become a real game environment.

Yeah. I'm going to try and use armabell first, then move on to other ones. This way i have options and soon know how to make maps nd be an Rx nerd like Who and Duke

lol armabell is sketchy though. one mistake and boom. Inkscape sucks ballas because it makes grid coordinates like -5234.234, -1.353 such a pain in the neck to debug. But they are great until you understand the actual xml (which isn't hard at all). Who makes all his maps with xml and never used armabell or inkscape. He uses some maptools though crazy-tronners.com/maptools/index.php

Well, I'm not a genius. I don't know a bit about XML.

Upcoming UPDATES -Ability to shoot more bullets faster -NO more wall-hack shots! Your rubber depletes before you are able to cross the "invisible barrier" to preform a wall-hack (but rubber remains at 20) -People will Freeze a lot less than before -All sniper bunkers no longer work as you can no longer wall-hack. To set up a designated sniper bunker, a negative rubberzone must be there (small price to pay for getting rid of wall hacking.) And it might even be cool to have trigger zones that when touched, turn off the sniper bunkers (like turning off a turret) for a minute or so. -If you touch an enemy tail, you will die (player melee-knifed player for 3 points). Touching your own or teammates tail does nothing
I hope to have these updates all tested and ready within 2 days.

"a negative rubberzone must be there"
mind posting a 'how to..' in tutorials?

Yeah, I need to get my shit up on the tutorials. I have about 100 i want to write about making servers. Anyways in the mean-time, in armabell or whatever, just spawn a dz there and I'll fix it up in the xml so it's a rubberzone.

Paintball idea: What happends when you're shot irl in paintball? Do you die? no, you get hurt. What if we made it so we shoot rubber zones instead? what we're playing is more like lazertag.

That doesn't sound too bad I like that idea.

Actually in most paintball gametypes (<-- I played semi-pro), you get a direct hit once, you're out, no matter where it is. Some leagues even play equipment kills, like if you drop a ball pod, and an enemy picks it up and shoots it, you're out. IRL with guns and bullets... it depends on the placement of the shot Shooting rubber zones would be decent if you could limit the amount of rubber they deplete, something like three shots kills. The only downside to this is it would degrade gameplay. Instead of running plays and tactics, people will start sprayin and prayin on the breakout. But that'll be self critiquing when the Rx pros show up and start owning asses.

I thought about this, but no way to change what gets shot. It would be an awesome idea though, but what like vibe said, it lowers the suspense for lack of better words.
