Yeah, most of you are like, "what is a ladle?" But its a famous Fort competition that goes on every few months. Something like 32 different clans or teams of 6 compete. So that makes a tourney of 192 odd people. This is going to be ladle 47, which probably makes it the most popular tournament in all of tron.

Hello dukevin,
[...] I don't know whether you've heard of the ladle (but i assume you probably have). If you don't know what it is, here's a short explanation:
The Ladle is the biggest fortress tournament. There are currently ~16 teams which participate regularly, including our clan (pru). Our first ladle was L18, we signed up after Concord asked us. Nobody of us played fortress until then, and of course we played terrible (we were probably the second best ctf clan, but that wasn't helpful for fortress). We didn't even know how to grind. As time went by, we got better and won against teams that completely owned us when we were new. However, we weren't the only clan that played its first ladle in January 09, the others were Ww (the strongest ctf clan back then), ID and VcL (the biggest hr/df clans).
I'm now trying to awake the interest of some of today's bigger clans for fortress.
Even if you don't play it and aren't good at it, it won't take long til you are as addicted to it as we are
See it as a challenge. Your players will get better, you'll get new members and perhaps lose some of your oldies like we did. You'll need to get a stable team with at least 6 players that know about time zones and have a basic understanding for fort's strategies and tactics. And you certainly need a lot of patience.
Now I'm not affiliated to your clan in any way and it's your very own decision. I'd be glad to help and teach your members a bit and give you tips, if needed. But first you have to want it.
If you have questions post in the ladle thread on arma forums, read the related wiki pages or contact me
Thanks for your time,
Word
