1: Age: 19
2: Sex: M
3: Aliases (other usernames you may play by): dukevin (it is a portmanteau for my real name), Kentexcitebot (nbk) is my brother
4: Login (if you have one): dukevin@forums
5: Styles of Armagetron you prefer to play (DF, CTF, Sumo, etc.): I play them all except for Sumo, racing, and loose or any server which requires binding to do well
6: Time Zone: UTC -8 (pacific standard)
7: Preferred servers: Wild West fortress, CTF, Submarine, |FA| Devil's rings
Additional armagetron preferences:
I am a very busy person IRL, so when I play tron, I play for fun. This is one of my main reasons I don't believe in clans; I don't like to be bound by rules. I don't want to wear clan tags, feel obligated to play or have a playing schedule (ie for clan wars), or follow clan codes (ethics codes either for that matter), although I do have my personal moral standard I follow.
I also don't bind in armagetron but have done fairly well without doing so. Since playing tron when it was an arcade game, binding was never an option. Now with armagetron, binding has always felt like cheating to me, and I could never marry the idea, though I may change my mind in the future.
My skill level varies greatly based on random factors IRL. Sometimes I really feel accomplished wiping hordes of foes triple binding in my straight box. Other times, it seems I'm a complete noob. This variation never bothered me because I could care less about ranks so long as I was having fun. My variation in skill is another reason why I feel clans are not fit for me.
Real life info: I am a college student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with the major of Computer Science. Getting a pretty descent workload each day means I sometimes go weeks without playing tron (again not ideal for clans). I aspire to be a programmer in the field of gaming.
With all that I have said, I would be honored to be a member of this clan. However, I may not be the type of player that this clan may be looking for.
Thanks and all the best, Kevin Duke

Hey man, thanks for your application. We're pretty layed back, so I wouldn't worry too much about the scheduling issues. If you are voted in, as far as the wars and shit, you play what you want to and what you can when you want to and when you can. We're not really into scheduled practices either, because we have lives too, hehe. As far as the clan tag thing goes, the only time we really care that you're wearing your tags is if there are other clan members playing with you. Other than that, your name can be whatever you want. And our only 'clan code' is don't be a douchebag, hehe. If you're savvy with all of that, then welcome to the forums and good luck! We're still really new, so you're our first official application. I'll talk to the Co-Leader Who, and if he's down with ya, one of us will let you know, and you're on your way to being Rx. Let me know if you want to proceed, hehe.

You being the founder of Truth Syn who's original philosophy is very much like mine (TS didn't even want to be a clan), Rx would be the only clan I would apply for. I like the idea of this clan being very flexible so I [hope] I won't have a problem at all joining. But then again, I couldn't care less if I were voted out.
Thanks for the welcome and the offer to join. I'd be fine with proceeding

Yeah, we're all about havin fun, and if you try and weigh this shit down with responsibility, it makes it less fun, so we're totally against that. Truth Syn was basically the prototype for this, which I consider the final product. Same philosophy, but with a different approach. Some look at clans and wars as a big deal and involve a lot of politics and bullcrap. We're just here to have fun, and trying to bring that philosophy together here in Rx. I plan to conduct all wars and competitions with the same philosophy in mind. I understand you not caring if you get voted out, I'm the same way when it comes to things like this. After all, it really IS just a game. I do hope, however, that if you're voted in, you can find some level of pride in not only being a part of what we do, but also being an integral building block in the clan, for as of now, we're only 5 days old. I don't want people who wear the tag to do so because they feel they have to, I want people who wear the tag to do so because they are proud to be a part of Insomnia, as I am.

You know, the writer Ambrose Bierce once said "congratulations is the civility of envy". Well, sense I'm already in the clan i hope you can see that I am sincere in saying...
CONGRATULATIONS DUKEVIN, YOU MAKE THE GRADE! WE LIKE YOU, WE REALLY LIKE YOU! WE HAVE VOTED YOU IN!
but this is just the first step... Hopefully, in time, you will be a full member, but for now you may call yourself an Insomnia Clan prospect! Congrats!

Haha word, congrats dukevin.
Who, you're a dork.
The next step is to hook up with Who on the grid and do a skills evaluation. You've already got my approval, but I'm not the only leader here. Both I and Who have to approve you, so look for each other on the grid, and good luck. You are allowed to wear the clan tag now though, so feel free to slap that sucker on!

Hey man, since you started prospecting, you've really stepped up to the plate for Insomnia. You're forum activity level is great, every time we see you in game you're wearing your tag, and you took a big step by becoming our CTF Division Leader. I've talked it over with ~¿Who?~ and we both believe it is in the best interest of the clan to terminate your Rx. Prospect phase and grant you full membership. You have been sent a private message with the password to our Members Only section, and your new rank will now be reflected with your posts and on your profile. Congratulations brotha, and Welcome to the family!
